Westminster City Council is proposing to introduce a contra-flow system for cyclists on a series of one-way streets in the Borough, including Castellain Road between Formosa Street & Lauderdale Road. Residents have expressed concern that allowing cyclists to ride against the direction of traffic will be confusing & potentially downright dangerous, particularly at the busy junction with Sutherland Avenue, & may end up diminishing the availability of parking spaces.
Comments or objections should be sent to tmo.westminster@wsp.com quoting reference 8139/HWB by July 30th.

Sky-high temperatures at this year's Party on June 28th failed to sap the energy of the scores of youngsters who turned out over the course of the afternoon (even if some of the adults appeared to be flagging!). As well as the ever-popular bouncy castle they enjoyed other perennial favourites such as pony rides & Mikey the Magician:

Refreshments were provided as ever by Raimondo with his ice cream van -- when asked how long he'd been a fixture at the event he replied: "Not long: 39 years" -- & by a new-comer to the scene, Pizza Post, who stepped in at the last minute & enjoyed a very busy day with more than a hundred pizzas sold:

There was also brisk trade at the stall manned by our generous sponsors, Your Dental Wellness, who opened their practice in Clifton Road in March. Their offering of sugar-free lemonade went down particularly well as temperatures soared:

Our thanks to them & also to our roving photographer Cheryl Prax, a very small selection of whose pictures I am including here. Look out for a lot more about the Summer Party in the Autumn edition of the Newsletter, due out at the beginning of October!
26 June 2025 – Residents of the Formosa Garden gathered at St Saviour’s School for the Annual General Meeting of Formosa Amenity Ltd, the company responsible for managing communal services and amenities in the garden.
During the AGM, the company’s Annual Report and Financial Statements for the past year were reviewed and have now been submitted to Companies House.
Following the formal proceedings, a residents’ meeting was held, during which the Board of Directors presented a review of key developments over the past year. The meeting also included the official introduction of the new Managing Agent, AMSBM, who are responsible for the day-to-day management of the garden.
Board members responded to a selection of questions submitted in advance by residents, fostering open communication and continued transparency between the company and the community.
The minutes of both the AGM and the residents’ meeting are available below.
